Thames Valley Venus Awards Official Website
In our eighth year we have launched with pride a brand new “mega” region – the Thames Valley Venus Awards 2017. We are very excited about this new venture and we are working with many impressive Sponsors in the region, including our title sponsor NatWest and Associate Sponsor Marshall Volkswagen.
Since launching in November 2016 we have had a wonderful response from businesses and influencers wanting to get involved.
Sir John Madejski is jointly sponsoring the Entrepreneur of the Year category with one of our media partners JACKfm, and our other media partner The Reading Chronicle is sponsoring the ever popular public vote of Business Mother.
The Semi Finalists for this year’s Thames Valley Awards have now been announced and details of the successful nominees who have progressed to this stage of the Awards can be found here
Upcoming key dates:
Finalist Announcement – 6th April 2017 at Grosvenor Casinos, Reading.
Winners Ceremony and Gala Dinner – 9th June 2017 at Madejski Stadium, Reading.
Venus Awards Ambassador
With 20 years in the IT world and 10 years in a high profile role working with SMEs, Corporate and Global businesses, Cindy is THE perfect Venus Ambassador and can connect with potential entrants, sponsors and partners alike.
Her credits are numerous, she is a mother, grandmother, mentor, connector and facilitator. Nothing pleases her more than helping people build confidence, highlight their achievements and remind those who have lost belief or just didn’t realise that what they do is simply worth shouting about.
Her aim is to go forth and spread the word about what makes the Venus Awards incredible and how it’s so very important to recognise people when it’s truly deserved. Cindy shared her thoughts with us of what it meant to be a part of the Awards in the Thames Valley: “I am truly flattered to be an Ambassador for the most successful women’s Awards organisation in the south of England. Tara Howard, its Founder, has such energy and tenacity, she oozes passion for what she believes in and the women she’s supported and given the platform to so they can embrace their talents. It’s a no brainer that I want to share my skills in connecting people and engaging at the right level, to duplicate these Awards in the Thames Valley.”
What our Sponsors and Supporters Say
“We started out our journey with you as one of the first companies to come on board with the awards and the reaction we have had has been fantastic. It’s opened up all kinds of opportunities and conversations for us, and having our category’s winner, Sarah Cressall, crowned National Entrepreneur of the Year really was the icing on the cake.”
“It’s a great vehicle to allow people to get to know each other and chat informally without pressure at the events. It was heart wrenching to choose our Finalists and then Winner…all the women were so good and had such fascinating stories about how they had built their own successful businesses.”
“The opportunity to be a nominee, or even winner of this prestigious award presents a wonderful platform to raise the profile of your business (the media love successful women in business), and the benefit of a great network for valuable information exchange with like-minded women.”
“Nat West is delighted to be the Title Sponsor of the Venus Awards and we are looking forward to celebrating women who are achieving amazing things in all sorts of business.”
“The Venus Awards generate immense excitement and exposure locally for all involved and are embracing both men and women. We are looking forward to supporting the 2014 awards and beyond.”
“We are involved in many events and this is among the very best.”

“The Venus awards gave me pause to acknowledge my work, and feel a real sense of achievement and pride. I was deeply honoured to have been nominated in the first place, and from the Semi Finals I thoroughly enjoyed a worthwhile journey with some amazing women.”
“Winning the National award was a very proud moment for me. The award has raised my profile within the business community and I’m thankful to everyone who voted for me. Winning the award is quite humbling, as there are so many great applications and to be singled out as the overall winner means that all the hard work and drive over the last few years has been worth it!”
“The Venus awards has introduced me to a lot of other women in business, making connections & hearing of others successes. It makes me realise how much I have achieved in my career and also lets my children see how hard I work.”
“That confidence has definitely helped me to go on and expand the business, since winning the award I have hugely increased my online sales and am just in the process of opening a second bricks and mortar shop.”
“Winning Venus awards has given me much more belief in myself and confidence to stand by my decisions and driving my business forward. It makes me feel I am taken more seriously as a women and young Entrepreneur in the business world.”
“For me personally in the Employee of the Year category, it gave more awareness of the Business Centre that I worked in and my role to those voting for me or watching my video.”
“Being the winner of the Green Award in 2013 was great kudos for our sales consultants to be able to utilise in their sales pitch. What better way to promote our Company, and improve sales, The Venus Women Green Business Award Winner.”
“I felt that I have been recognised by more people, by being part of the awards and will have the opportunity to develop myself personally by finally realising that it can benefit my business by being the face of it. Even if that means I need to have my photo taken.”
