Over 350 people attended the extremely glamorous and exclusive “social event of the business calendar” – the Venus Awards Ceremony [dubbed the “Working Women’s Oscars”,] which took place at the incredible Hilton at the Ageas Bowl on Friday 15th April.

The Awards, once again, drew over a thousand nominations and applications, and attracted dozens of sponsors and supporters.  Once again, we will be welcoming a select group of inspirational, driven and successful local women in business into the very exclusive Venus Awards Winner’s Circle.

What our Sponsors & Supporters Say

“We started out our journey with you as one of the first companies to come on board with the awards and the reaction we have had has been fantastic. It’s opened up all kinds of opportunities and conversations for us, and having our category’s winner, Sarah Cressall, crowned National Entrepreneur of the Year really was the icing on the cake.”

Hazel Tucker Hazel Tucker – Bishop Fleming

“It’s a great vehicle to allow people to get to know each other and chat informally without pressure at the events. It was heart wrenching to choose our Finalists and then Winner…all the women were so good and had such fascinating stories about how they had built their own successful businesses.”

Phil Sampson Phil Sampson

  • “Personally, the Awards helped me to recognise the value of continuing to do what I do. To be recognised by other women is an incredible boost to confidence and although you know that what you do is valuable, having that underpinned and recognised by your peers adds value to everything from that point on. I intend to continue to display the awards ( Local and National) with great pride.”

  • “I have been a working woman for over 30 years and in this time received commendations for my work, however, nothing as personal as this nomination. I feel very proud and honoured to have inspired my colleagues and friends. I always do my best to share my knowledge, support others and provide a helping hand.”

  • “However in addition the awards have been noticed by our clients and contemporaries, highlighting that we really do everything we can to continuously improve on our internal processes and on customer satisfaction.”

  • “Being nominated has given me more confidence. I have allowed myself to stop and think yes I do a good job and I have enjoyed and accepted the praise. (which I don’t usually do.)”

  • “It was a lovely accolade to win an award I am proud of. I was very surprised to have won such a prestigious award and it was a great confidence boost and a very nice recognition of my career progression/ success to date.”

  • “I can’t tell you how proud I was to be recognised for all of my hard work and dedication to my business. My son, daughter and partner were there to watch me accept the award as I went on stage to give an emotional, straight from the heart speech.”

  • “Now I am able to do that with the added bonus of being recognised for this too by being part of the Venus Awards. I am truly really happy to have been nominated and very excited to be at the final and have even more drive to prove my company to be even more successful and to grow and develop over the coming years.”

  • “I feel that being nominated is a recognition of the hard work and commitment that my business partner and I have dedicated to making River Aesthetics a success. The nomination is a firm endorsement from our peers and business women that we are on the right track.”
