It hasn’t as far as I can tell - although I include the badge on my website and email signature so this may give more credibility and a sense of trust with new clients.
It was really lovely to be recognised by my peers and clients, and even more so to be short-listed by the judges, who had not met nor spoken with me. When we work alone we rarely get impromptu feedback so it’s nice to be noticed for what you set out to achieve.
I have already been asked by someone in Plymouth and I said “It was a chance to network with some other great business women in Bristol, and I think it will grow; for now it’s only worth doing if you’re in the right category.â€
I mentioned categories as I believe it was unfair that finalists nominated and short-listed by others should have to pay the high price it was when other categories had been found sponsors and therefore had free tickets. As there was little to no press coverage - despite the meet the press afternoon tea, where there appeared to be no press - the only way it could benefit the business is if we did our own PR (which I did).
Overall I think it’s a great idea and a work in progress and I appreciate the chance to offer feedback. I hope it helps.
