Since winning Business Mother of the Year I have had a huge amount of coverage of my business in the media. Lots of local papers have written about my baby food cookery school, I’ve had numerous radio interviews, and I was even asked to be a judge for the BBC Food Awards.
The impact of this on my business has been fantastic. It’s really raised awareness that the cookery school exists, and resulted in lots of enquiries and bookings.
Off the back of the awards I’ve also teamed up with a training business to provide training sessions for one-man-band businesses on how to market their business to local media and use social media effectively.
It was a huge surprise to win and find out that more than 800 people had voted for me. I’ve also met lots of lovely people among the other finalists and winners - we’re already arranging a group night out for the Bristol winners.
You’ve got nothing to lose by entering Venus Awards, and could end up with an award or at the very least a place on a fantastic night out with loads of like-minded women.
